Free Online Encryption & Cryptography Tools
Securnix brings free online cryptography tools and clear beginner guides together in one place. Try classic cipher demonstrations, generate secure random passwords and UUIDs, convert Base64 or URL text, create a hash, or check password strength. The tools process your input in your browser; simplified cipher demos are educational and should never protect sensitive data.
π Caesar Cipher
π Security Analysis
Caesar cipher provides low security as it only has 25 possible keys, making it vulnerable to brute force attacks.
π Playfair Cipher
π Security Analysis
Playfair encrypts letter pairs, which can hide single-letter patterns better than a simple substitution. It is still a historical cipher with known weaknesses and is not suitable for modern security.
π RSA Cipher
π Security Analysis
This simplified RSA implementation is for education only. Real RSA-based systems require carefully implemented, modern cryptographic libraries; do not use this demo to protect sensitive information.
πͺ Brute Force Analysis
π Analysis Results
π Vigenere Cipher
Encrypt or decrypt alphabetic text using a repeating keyword. Non-letter characters are preserved. Learn about Vigenere.
π ROT13 Converter
Apply ROT13 to letters. Applying it again reverses the transformation. Learn about ROT13.
π Atbash Cipher
Map A to Z, B to Y and so on. The same operation enciphers and deciphers. Learn about Atbash.
π Rail Fence Cipher
Arrange text in a zigzag across rails, then read each rail in sequence. Learn about Rail Fence.
π οΈ Additional Tools
π€ Text Transformer
π’ Hash Generator
Create a digest for sample text with MD5, SHA-1 or SHA-256. These algorithms are not interchangeable for security purposes; MD5 and SHA-1 are outdated for collision-resistant security.
π Password Strength
Get a local, educational estimate of password characteristics. This checker cannot tell you whether a password has been exposed in a breach.
Enter a password
π Secure Password Generator
Create a random password in your browser. Generated passwords are not stored or sent anywhere.
π Base64 Converter
Encode or decode text as Base64. Base64 is an encoding format, not encryption.
π URL Encoder / Decoder
Safely encode text for a URL component or decode a percent-encoded value.
π UUID Generator
Generate a random version 4 UUID using your browser's secure random number generator.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are Securnix tools free?
Yes. Securnix provides its educational cryptography tools and guides free of charge.
Does Securnix send text entered into its tools to a server?
The cipher, hash, password and converter tools run in your browser and their input is not sent to a Securnix application server. An internet connection may still be needed to load the website and third-party resources.
Which tools are available?
Securnix includes Caesar, Playfair, Vigenere, ROT13, Atbash and Rail Fence cipher tools, a simplified RSA demonstration, Caesar brute force analysis, text and Base64 converters, URL encoding, a UUID and password generator, a hash generator and a password strength checker.
Is Base64 encryption?
No. Base64 is a reversible way to represent bytes as text; it does not encrypt or protect information.
Which classical ciphers can I try?
Securnix offers educational Caesar, Playfair, Vigenere, ROT13, Atbash and Rail Fence cipher tools. These historical ciphers are not suitable for protecting sensitive information.
Is Caesar cipher secure?
No. A Caesar cipher has only 25 useful keys and is easy to break by trying them all. It is suitable for learning and puzzles, not for protecting data.
Is the Securnix RSA demo safe for real data?
No. The Securnix RSA implementation is simplified for education and is not suitable for protecting sensitive information.
Cryptography for Beginners
Cryptography uses mathematical methods to protect or verify information. Encryption transforms readable plaintext into ciphertext using an algorithm and key; decryption reverses that transformation for someone with the right key. A hash is different: it produces a fixed-size digest and is designed to be one-way, not decrypted.
Explore ciphers and practical security
Start with the Caesar cipher guide to see how a shift key works, then study the Playfair cipher and its digraph rules or the basics of RSA public-key encryption. For everyday security, read about creating and protecting strong passwords and what a cryptographic hash canβand cannotβdo.
