About Securnix
Securnix is a free, browser-based cryptography toolkit designed to make classical and modern cryptographic concepts easier to learn. Built by the AWTS Team as an educational project, it gives students and curious beginners a hands-on way to explore how algorithms and keys transform sample text.
What Securnix includes
The toolkit brings together interactive demonstrations and focused learning resources:
- Caesar Cipher — a classic shift cipher with a configurable key from 1 to 25, plus an emoji output mode.
- Vigenere, ROT13, Atbash and Rail Fence ciphers — four additional historical cipher demonstrations for exploring keyword shifts, alphabet reversal and transposition.
- Playfair Cipher — a digraph substitution cipher that uses a 5×5 key grid built from a keyword.
- RSA Cipher — a simplified public-key encryption demo that illustrates key pairs; it is not suitable for real-world security.
- Brute Force Analysis — try every Caesar shift and see which output looks most like English.
- Password Strength Checker and Secure Password Generator — review sample-password characteristics or generate a random password with your browser's cryptographic random-number generator.
- Hash Generator, Base64 Converter, URL Encoder/Decoder, UUID Generator and Text Transformer — utilities for everyday development and cryptography practice.
A privacy-first approach
The cipher, hash, password, UUID and text-conversion tools run locally in your browser; text entered into these tools is not sent to a Securnix application server. Theme choice, the active tool tab and RSA demo keys are stored in browser local storage. The separate dashboard demo also stores account details there, so never use a real or reused password with it. An internet connection may still be needed to load the site and its third-party resources.
Why it was built
Cryptography is often taught through textbooks and slide decks, which can make it hard to build intuition. Securnix helps make the concepts concrete: learners can change a key, inspect an example output, and then read a guide explaining how the algorithm works and where its limitations lie.
Who is this for
Securnix is aimed at three main groups:
- Students taking their first course in cryptography, computer security, or discrete mathematics.
- Teachers who want a reliable, no-install demo tool for classroom or online lessons.
- Security enthusiasts who want a quick way to test an idea, break a puzzle, or brush up on cipher mechanics.
Our goal
We want Securnix to remain free, useful, and privacy-conscious. Explore the cryptography beginner guide, then continue with the Vigenere, ROT13, Atbash and Rail Fence guide, the Caesar cipher, the Playfair cipher, or the RSA encryption guide. If you have feedback or spot a bug, please reach out through the contact page.
Thank you for using Securnix. We hope it makes learning cryptography a little more enjoyable.
